Have you ever asked yourself, or the Lord, “Is this God’s will for my life?”
More often than not, I find myself asking this question. When things are going well, when things are going badly, I am having to constantly re-evaluate my life. I don’t enhoy doing this but my mind is constantly on. I refuse to believe that I am the only one who does this.
For many, God’s will is perceived as obscure, mystical and out of reach. But the truth is that God’s intentions for whatever we’re facing today is very intentional.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”. God has a wonderful purpose for our lives. I genuinely believe that. The key for us is just to discern it and to put it into motion.
It’s simple when you think about it: God is an intentional being. You can see it in John 1, where God intentionally came to earth and lived in the flesh in order to be the Saviour of the human race.
He plans and He acts according to His plan. As His people we also need to be intentional. We need to plan how we will express His love to others in concrete, specific, intentional ways.
I say this because I know that this isn’t an easy task, especially because we are all so busy reacting to life.
Take this message today and know that all things are working for our good. God is intentional. He is never failing. And although at times it may be difficult to see what His intention is, I promise you he is faithful.
We serve a big, big God!
