Not just any mistake.
A mistake you made at a particular point in time, that when making the ‘mistake’ it wasn’t actually a mistake.
It was ‘just’ a decision.
A decision that you took just as lightly as the majority of the decisions we make in our everyday lives.
But a decision that comes back to bite you in the ass (literally) a few years later, which therefore qualifies it as being a mistake
I have! I am going through this now!
And it feels shit. Like really shit.
But this is a feeling I never ever want to be able to forget.
I want to be able to continually remind myself that when we are going through those confusing, difficult learning times, we have to learn to have perspective.
Because when we are being pelleted by events that make us feel, think and question, we are in the midst of learning something important.
We can trust that something valuable is being worked out in us – even when things are difficult, even when we cannot get our bearings.
Insight and clarity do not come until we have mastered our lesson.
Faith is like a muscle. It must be exercised to grow strong.
A wise man once said, “Consequences are bound to the choices we make. We can have our choice, but we cannot choose our consequence.“
Just something to remember this cold Monday Morning 🙂
